To no Avail

fact
the holy grail
that’s out of range
to help
the climate change deniers
clearly
understand
that
‘fact’
actually
fails
to avail itself
of it’s dna
remaining
visible
compliant
and
available
to all
individually
therefore
not
entirely out of sight
for they*
to whom
it’s out of range
if
they have a brain
that’s trained
to work.

*for they to whom!? — can anyone suggest/ verify/ correct the composition! Cheers.

  1. Michael Bennett says:

I stumbled over the part you marked as I read through.

“whom” is correct because it follows the preposition; however I’d suggest tweaking “for they to whom” to simply “for whom”

  2. I am not concerned about the perfection of composition (but I would ask too) and find this starkly beautiful and poignant.

  3. dhonour says:

You could try “for them” which works in both directions: not entirely out of sight for them/for them it’s out of range, but that changes the structure and only the poet knows how they feel about the structure itself.
