Silence in the Library

He stood
Smiled
Accepted a prize
For
Peace
Then spoke
Of war

No-one heard
Or truly understood
Why should they?
He’s our guy
It’s our turn
To govern
Honesty
Will be our style
They lied

Hope! Has no change to spare
But many a platitude to spend

Our Münich moment, Mr Kerry?

That’s not
How we recall
The fall, that gave rise
To the aggressor
And title of appeaser
To diplomacy

Now
There is silence
In the library
On the eve of war
Empty rooms
No-one
Is reading
History

Yes we can…bomb another country to dust. Change you can believe in…regime change, that is. The audacity to hope…ooh child, that things are going to get a little easier. I should stop now.

I don’t like the story of war! Can’t we all find a peaceful way to exist without killing each other? Why do we spend so much money developing target bombs, unmanned aircraft and so on instead of working towards equitable societies, universal education, guarantee of basic rights and so on. It is pathetic to say the least!

      1: Population control.
      2: Resources control.
      3. Ego; the boxer who always wins only considers retirement after he suffers consecutive defeats – this boxer was defeated only once.

  3. How did you get to be so cynical so young, Lex? You’re as bad as i am.

No leader, whether right or left, is my father or a God. Obama is a warmonger, same as Bush, using the same tactics as Bush: a liar, doctoring intelligence, killing indiscriminately etc.,. and all the people who resisted Bush are following Obama blindly, because he’s their/our guy. Our guy has gone astray – superpower syndrome.
